Regeneration of office building on Fleet Street

2021

Fleet Street, London

Client:  Broadwater Capital Limited

The Daily Telegraph building is a Grade II listed building in the Fleet Street conservation area, which lies in the West of the City of London.

The building’s façade features a combination of Art Deco and neoclassical details. Large Doric columns give the building a sense of heritage, while its modernist elements represent the present. The proposed intervention aims to preserve the beauty and cultural value of this iconic building, regenerating every single part of it, without contaminating its historical significance. For the building to be maintained as an everyday occupational office a certain amount of modernisation needs to be implemented, thereby extending its life and sue, whilst retaining the unique elements of the building’s heritage.
